Cross-border businesses face legal and compliance hurdles. Large companies can often absorb the cost; SMEs often cannot — and growth stalls. Gloco.ai is an AI-driven cross-border compliance platform offering global solutions across legal, accounting, tax, HR, and other admin support.
Founder & CEO Zhang Ning shared Gloco’s AI practice and overseas operating experience with Unique Research. Highlights below (Q&A fidelity preserved).
Q: Why start Gloco.ai?
A: To give SMEs a fair shot at global markets. I came to the U.S. from China in 2000, studied at Illinois and Georgetown, earned a JD in 2007, and worked on global M&A at firms including Jones Day. Top firms mostly serve top clients and treat knowledge as a scarce asset. E-commerce changed who can sell abroad — Amazon, TikTok, eBay — but law, accounting, tax, IP, and HR still block SMEs. We help global small sellers get compliant and meet cross-border needs.
Q: What impact on SME clients — and what challenges do you solve?
A: Entering new jurisdictions is opaque. Gloco is a one-stop platform for company formation, compliance, hiring, tax filings, and IP protection. AI simplifies workflows and helps SMEs find quality freelancers to cut operating cost.
Q: Language and time zones — how do you match professionals?
A: Finding the right expert is expensive and messy. The site first offers multilingual standard packages; an AI assistant answers basic questions and guides package choice. Once a task is handed off, we prepare documents and route them to professionals for QC — less cost, less back-and-forth.
Q: How do you guarantee quality?
A: Full screening — interviews and background checks. Every job is reviewed to a high bar. Experienced lawyers and specialists continuously manage and audit work.
Q: How do you control accountant and lawyer cost?
A: Competitive analysis, price benchmarks, and negotiation. We also give professionals a steady client flow so they save time and accept competitive rates for long-term partnership.
Q: What does the client workflow look like?
A: Strict vetting of every professional. Clients often need three or more lawyers before finding a fit; Gloco’s pre-vetted local counsel network supplies qualified execution teams. Early on, an AI chatbot helps customize a compliance plan and clear to-dos; human-in-the-loop experts regularly audit model replies and tune the system. In the backend, LLM reasoning drives digital workers on form fill, review, and filing for speed and accuracy. Continuous feedback keeps quality high. For ongoing overseas compliance, natural-language prompts cover live Q&A, IP infringement defense, and policy-change risk.
Q: How much time and budget do SMEs save?
A: SME CEOs can save roughly 100 person-hours per month. Market knowledge plus process optimization remove unnecessary work.
Q: How is growth?
A: Growing since early 2022 at over 20% month-over-month. First-month sales were about $9,000; now monthly sales exceed $300,000.
Q: What challenges now — and how do you respond?
A: Cross-border employment compliance must fit local law everywhere. We: (1) train for deep compliance awareness; (2) standardize clear boundaries and processes; (3) apply latest AI across service flows; (4) offer one-stop coverage across all countries we operate in.
