As RSNA opens in Chicago, a roundup of radiology and imaging-IT announcements.
The week after Thanksgiving, tens of thousands of imaging, IT, and informatics professionals from 120+ countries gather at McCormick Place (Dec 1–5) for new hardware/software and clinical innovation.
AI is remaking imaging as elsewhere. KLAS Imaging AI 2024: FDA-cleared imaging AI tools have surged past 300 in recent years — growth not slowing. As regulation evolves, attitudes toward new imaging AI platforms, ops/reporting automation, and other tools shift. Over 50% of surveyed orgs now apply AI algorithms to at least one imaging use case — up from 17% in 2018. KLAS surveyed 200+ orgs (~25% imaging groups; rest U.S. health systems) on which tools win in a “crowded market.”
RSNA floor highlights:
Agfa — CARPL.ai into AGFA HealthCare Enterprise Imaging; RUBEE for AI expands access to CARPL’s 140-app marketplace for scaled AI adoption.
Aidoc — CARE1 foundation model for CT: Clinical AI Reasoning Engine v1, trained on millions of exams — cut diagnostic delay, optimize workflow, improve outcomes.
Fujifilm — AI-enhanced 1.5T MRI; open 0.4T MRI; next-gen ultrasound with cognitive deep-tissue viz; compact all-in-one fluoro C-arm; two digital radiography suites.
GE HealthCare — Pristina Via mammography for patient/tech experience; tools balancing diagnostic accuracy and fast workflow amid global tech shortages.
