Historical edition: This is the full translation of Unique Research's December 2, 2025 article about October 2025 data, not a current product recommendation. Product features, financial terms, market interpretations, ranking methods, institutional claims and the claimed ±10% estimation error remain attributed to the original article. Its claim that emotional AI has the highest willingness to pay is an interpretation, not a demonstrated comparison in these charts. App-store snapshots below are historical marketing material, not independent performance verification; eligibility, fees and terms may apply.
If you only follow the news, it is easy to think that today's AI world belongs entirely to blockbuster models such as Sora 2, Veo 3.1, and Nano Banana Pro, among others.
But when we shift our attention away from headline models and look at real usage data for AI applications on smartphones, a different picture emerges. On Unique Research's October AI App growth ranking, the 17 fastest-growing products are not general-purpose assistants that can discuss anything. They are a group of small applications that look rather ordinary and even a little unglamorous. Among them, Gauth, Starry, Knowunity, and AI Baby Generator have made the ranking for two consecutive months.
There is also Xiaoyuan Souti, which teaches parents how to check homework; Lovey Dovey and Saylo, which let users experience virtual romance; Chuangkit, which helps people design posters; Cleo, which helps users manage and save money; and a host of creative tools that can transform photos, videos, and music with AI in one click.
These Apps have only one thing in common: they do not talk about general intelligence. They focus exclusively on the most specific, everyday, and awkward-to-admit needs in human life—homework, romance, money, anxiety, and the desire for self-expression.
The ranking shows that AI has recently begun to spend less time proving how smart it is and more time humbly helping people solve three small problems: earn slightly better grades, feel a little less lonely, and feel a little less anxious about money.
Next, we will follow these three threads and unpack what the 17 surging applications have in common.
I. When Children's Grades Are Entrusted to AI: From Photo-Based Problem Search to SchoolGPT
Let us begin with the most conventional category: learning.
At least three education applications are growing rapidly on the ranking:
Gauth, which uses photographed homework → AI problem solving as its entry point and offers photo-based solutions across subjects + step-by-step explanations + 24/7 expert Q&A;
Xiaoyuan Souti, already a household name among Chinese parents, which has pushed photo-based problem search + video explanations + homework checking to the limit;
And Knowunity, which is rising among students in Europe and the United States and openly calls itself SchoolGPT, packaging AI tutors + flashcards + question banks + 17 million student notes into a complete exam-preparation system.
Looking only at features, it is easy to fall into the misconception that they are all merely photo-based problem-solving applications.
But at a higher level of abstraction, their products all address the same thing: anxiety about learning has escalated from "I cannot solve this problem" to "I do not know how to learn this subject."
By providing step-by-step explanations after users photograph their homework, Gauth lowers the threshold for asking for help. It addresses students' most concrete pain points:
Having no approach to a math problem, not understanding a physics derivation, or having no teacher to ask in the middle of the night. Its product path is clear—evolving from explaining a single problem toward becoming an all-subject AI homework companion.
Xiaoyuan Souti takes a more family-oriented entry point:
Parents have neither the time nor the ability to supervise all of their children's homework, so features such as checking homework across all subjects in 1 second and organizing and printing incorrect answers with one click are, in practice, helping parents cope with the exhausting pressures of education.
When AI helps determine whether homework is correct, conversations between parents and children can finally contain less "How did you get this wrong again?" and more "How should we address it next?"
Knowunity goes further. It is not content to offer a question bank + explanations; it directly declares itself a SchoolGPT:
Users can ask homework questions and photograph problems, while the application also includes complete SAT/ACT/AP preparation systems. Its question banks, notes, and knowledge summaries are all gamified, allowing students to study as if they were using Duolingo, one lesson after another.
These three products are, in fact, competing along the same curve:
Which one feels more like a long-term AI study coach, rather than a search engine that only supplies answers?
That is also why education appears especially stable among all AI categories. It does not need a dazzling demo; it only needs to move a child, sitting before a worksheet, from not knowing to understanding.
II. No One Teaches You How to Fall in Love, So AI Has Become an Emotional Partner
If education Apps address anxiety about grades, another major category of rapidly growing products on the ranking addresses the anxiety that "no one understands me."
Lovey Dovey positions itself as an AI romantic-companion App: users can have multi-turn conversations with virtual partners whose roles have backstories, personalities, and paths of development. The relationship progresses with the dialogue, from first meeting to becoming a couple.
It supports 40+ languages, enabling young users worldwide to romance their ideal type in their native language. It also created a virtual currency called Jam, which users spend on conversations and unlocking advanced modes, directly monetizing emotional value.
Saylo, meanwhile, has built a vast universe of AI characters:
More than one million AI characters whose settings, appearances, and voices users can create themselves;
Conversations can become not only written stories but also automatically generated AI video narratives that can be shared to social networks with one click.
Virtual romance, ensemble dramas, love triangles, creator rankings... This is no longer a chat App, but a form of entertainment that turns one's inner drama into short-form video.
Beyond these virtual relationships are more utility-oriented emotional products: the Lovekey keyboard hides its entry point inside the input method.
Copy a conversation and switch to the keyboard, and it can generate an emotionally intelligent reply with one click;
Different personas and different levels of intimacy correspond to different styles of response;
It does not solve "How do I translate this sentence?" but rather "How do I say this without sounding foolish, cold, or impolite?"
AI Baby Generator is more direct: upload photos of two people, and it generates what their future baby might look like.
The exercise has no rational significance in itself, yet it is perfectly suited to the rituals of romance.
On Thanksgiving, Christmas, or an anniversary, sending the other person an image of "our future child" becomes an implicit promise that "we will stay together."
Add Donna AI Song, which turns emotions into songs, and Saylo, which chats with users and helps them write stories, and this category clearly points to one fact: among all AI applications, emotional products command the highest willingness to pay and are discussed the least in public.
These products all touch the same reality:
It is not that people have no friends. Rather, amid many of the emotions that are hardest to voice—scrolling late at night, the aftermath of an argument, being ignored, or feeling unworthy of love—they have no safe recipient into whom they can pour those feelings.
The essence of emotional AI applications is to fill this gap with empathy that is repeatable, configurable, and never fatigued.
This may not replace real relationships, but it has indeed become a stable support in many people's emotional lives.
III. The Invisible Operating System for Creativity and Life: AI Is Quietly Replacing the Toolbar
The third category of rapidly growing products looks highly varied:
It includes Meta AI's Vibes video generator and AI glasses assistant; high-quality AI video tools such as Luma Dream Machine; the AI upgrade of the long-established photo-editing App Photo Lab; comprehensive creative platforms such as SeaArt, which combines images + video + an anime community + a model library; and more utility-oriented applications such as Chuangkit, the Starry browser, PlantAI, and Cleo.
What they share is that they do not try to become the center of the world. Instead, they quietly take over established entry points.
The change is especially visible in content creation.
Luma and AI Video break professional editing into two steps:
First, use text, reference images, or existing video to generate polished moving images;
Second, make simple modifications and reconstructions on a phone.
For advertising agencies, independent creators, and short-video operators, these tools are no longer toys but genuine productivity tools.
Photo Lab and SeaArt, meanwhile, turn complex image generation and stylization into one-click templates:
Hundreds or thousands of filters, styles, and collages cover holiday cards, avatars, fan edits, anime styles, and illustration styles.
Users do not need to understand diffusion models, parameters, or LoRA, because they simply choose a template and tap Apply—however complex the model behind it may be, that complexity is irrelevant to the user.
Donna handles music, helping users turn a sentence into a song;
Chuangkit handles digital posters, e-commerce graphics, and offline materials of all kinds. From AI image generation and automatic layout to one-click print ordering, it completes the loop from inspiration to physical object.
At the level of everyday utilities, AI is also gradually replacing old habits:
Starry rewrites what a browser can be.
Automatic side-by-side bilingual display, original-text replacement, ad blocking, and privacy protection make reading foreign-language websites a smooth experience rather than the manual labor of repeatedly copying text and switching to translation software.
PlantAI turns plant care into a photo-based entry point for diagnosing plants:
Users no longer need to look up Latin names. They only need to take a photo and let AI tell them whether the problem is insufficient water, insufficient fertilizer, disease or pests, or inadequate light.
Cleo performs a similar transformation for money:
It reads your bills, teases you about wasteful spending, helps you budget and create a savings plan, gives you an interest-free cash advance of up to 250 dollars when cash flow is tight, and offers 3.14% high-yield savings and credit-building. For people who spend their entire paycheck each month, it is more like a financial coach who is willing to scold them.
The growth of these applications does not depend on a flashy demo. It comes from a slower but harder-to-reverse trend:
AI is becoming an invisible operating system, gradually rewriting what we expect from tools.
A keyboard does more than accept input; it speaks more appropriately on your behalf;
A financial-management App does more than record transactions; it helps you make decisions and provides a cash-flow buffer.
When users no longer perceive AI as an additional App, because it is hidden in the toolbar by default, the real infrastructure has quietly been completed.
IV. Solving Problems, Relieving Pressure, and Balancing Resources: A Simple Model for Judging Whether an AI App Is Worth Building
Place these 17 rapidly growing applications together, and a clear structure appears:
Whether in learning, emotion, creativity, financial management, or browsers, they are ultimately racing along three value curves. I call this the "solve problems, relieve pressure, and balance resources" model.
The first curve is solving problems—breaking down barriers to knowledge and skills.
Gauth, Xiaoyuan Souti, and Knowunity are the most typical problem-solving tools:
They break a problem into steps, a course into cards, and an exam-preparation path into levels;
What users invest is not only time, but also confidence that "I can learn this."
PlantAI also belongs in this category—it simply packages botanical knowledge into a photo-based entry point.
The second curve is relieving pressure—addressing emotional and identity anxiety.
Products such as Lovey Dovey, Saylo, Lovekey, AI Baby Generator, and Donna turn loneliness, romantic ambiguity, the desire for expression, and insecurity in relationships into consumable services:
You pay for the feeling of being understood and for a self-narrative in which you have a story to tell.
They are not selling features; they are selling the psychological buffer of feeling, "I am not that bad."
The third curve is balancing resources—helping users reallocate money, time, and attention.
Cleo uses personalized AI financial management to package budgeting, cash advances, and credit building into a conversational interface;
Starry improves reading efficiency so that you no longer waste attention on advertisements and switching between translation tools;
Creative tools such as Meta AI, Luma, SeaArt, and Chuangkit sharply reduce content-production costs, freeing time and resources from mechanical labor for higher-return creative work.
If you are considering a new AI product, perhaps you can begin by asking yourself three questions:
Does it help users solve problems faster—not by adding a few more features than existing tools, but by materially lowering a particular learning or cognitive barrier?
Does it relieve pressure—does it genuinely reduce a user's shame, loneliness, or anxiety in a specific situation?
Can it help users balance resources—making the flow of money, time, and attention more controllable rather than more fragmented?
Products that can simultaneously move two of these curves often have the potential to enter the growth ranking.
V. The Next Wave of Opportunity Is Still Hidden in Scenarios That Do Not Look Cool
Returning to the question with which we began:
At the model level, the AI world of 2025 is indeed exciting;
But at the application level, this list of 17 Apps reminds us that the products truly breaking out are precisely those that do not look at all futuristic.
The ones that explain problems to students, save parents effort, teach you how to say the first sentence to your crush, lend you two hundred and fifty dollars before payday, or quietly place a line of Chinese beneath an English webpage.
They are all small, and none may have a single feature impressive enough for a launch-event demonstration.
Yet these unglamorous little uses make up most of our daily lives.
Perhaps this is the most memorable lesson from this wave of AI applications:
Real innovation does not necessarily grow out of the most dazzling demo. It grows out of countless details that finally make someone say, "At last, somebody is dealing with this annoying problem."
The next time you encounter a new AI project, do not rush to ask what model it uses or whether it can achieve general intelligence. Ask first: whom does it help, in what specific scenario, and what small piece of anxiety does it resolve?
Any product that can answer that question clearly deserves serious attention, no matter how uncool it looks.

02. Research Statement
2.1 Data Notes
The AI product revenue data in this report, article, ranking, or chart is based on real-time tracking of traffic redirected from AI product websites to payment gateways such as Stripe, combined with time-series analysis. This process examines historical visits, fluctuations in monthly active users, and changes in pricing strategy in depth to construct a dynamic revenue-estimation model. The model's core parameters are determined through a three-part validation system comprising paid-conversion-funnel monitoring, reverse calibration using company-disclosed data, and comparison with industry benchmark conversion rates; they are also promptly compared with and corrected against corporate financial reports, financing announcements, and disclosures from authoritative media. Sample validation shows that the mean absolute error rate of predictions remains within ±10%, meeting industry-grade research standards.
The AI product traffic data in this report, article, ranking, or chart is based on the integration of multiple data sources and processing by Unique Research's intelligent algorithms. Monitoring is strictly limited to direct user visits through official applications and websites. Specifically, the data covers only behavior in which users directly access AI products through websites and native applications. It excludes traffic generated through browser plugins/extensions, desktop client software, WeChat/Alipay mini-program ecosystems, embedded services on third-party platforms such as Discord, local deployment of open-source models, API calls, and other indirect-access scenarios. The data focuses on monitoring direct use of AI products on core user endpoints, with the aim of objectively reflecting direct use on mainstream user devices.
Given the complexity and dynamic nature of data collection and processing, as well as the market environment's continual change, the displayed data may contain a certain degree of error and omission. It should therefore be regarded as a reference for research and analysis, intended to provide users with a window into the AI product market, rather than as a definitive basis for specific investment strategies or consulting advice.
Statement on Expanded Data Coverage:
We are actively developing and testing monitoring models for the following emerging fields, which are expected to be included gradually in future quarterly reports:
AI agent (Agents) ecosystems
AI hardware-device sales and activity
Estimates of large-model API call volume
Stay tuned.
2.2 Definitions
• Geographic Dimension
Overseas AI Products: Products founded by entrepreneurs or teams not of Chinese heritage and launched primarily for global markets, including but not limited to their domestic markets.
Domestic AI Products: Products founded by Chinese-national entrepreneurs or teams and launched primarily for China's domestic market.
Chinese AI Products Going Global: Products founded by entrepreneurs or teams of Chinese heritage but targeted primarily at overseas markets outside mainland China.
• Functional Dimension
AI-Native Applications: Applications in which artificial intelligence technologies and algorithms are deeply integrated from the outset of product design, and whose core value, business processes, or user experience depend entirely on AI. These applications do not merely use AI to optimize or enhance existing functions; AI is a core component, without which the applications would cease to exist or lose their core value.
AI-Enabled Applications: Applications that integrate or embed AI technology into an existing business logic and application framework to enhance current functions or provide entirely new ones. These applications may already have mature business models and market positioning, but by introducing AI, they can significantly improve efficiency, improve user experience, or create new value.
AI-Ecosystem Applications: Platform applications that support, connect, or facilitate communication among AI technology researchers, application developers, service providers, end users, and the broader AI ecosystem. They are not limited to the technical layer, but also span markets, communities, resource sharing, and other dimensions, with the aim of promoting the adoption, innovation, and collaborative development of AI.
2.3 Metrics
• WEB Data Metrics
Visits: The total number of visits to a website during a specified period, such as one month, used to measure the scale of website traffic. Page views during a continuous period of activity count as the same session, while renewed activity after an interval of more than 30 minutes or at the beginning of a new day is counted as a new visit, thereby providing a comprehensive and precise measure of traffic and visitor activity.
Unique Visitors: The number of unique IPs visiting the target website during a specified period, such as one month. If someone visits a website on multiple days during a month, that person is counted as only one unique visitor.
Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR): The total revenue a website earns from subscription services provided to users over a specified period, such as one year. It excludes advertising revenue, transaction commissions, and one-off revenue such as professional services.
• APP Data Metrics
Downloads: The number of times an App is downloaded during a specified period, such as one month. It is generally measured by downloads of a single App from application stores such as the App Store and Google Play, and is an important indicator of an App's popularity and user appeal. It can also reflect the effectiveness of App promotion and marketing activities.
Active Users: The number of unique users who engage in at least one activity during a specified period, such as one month. Active users measure user participation and activity during a specific period and are generally used to evaluate an App's user scale and engagement.
In-App Purchase Revenue (IAP): Revenue generated by purchases that users make within an App to obtain virtual goods, additional services, premium features, and similar offerings. It excludes advertising revenue, direct user payments such as tips, and revenue from third-party Android app stores.
