Financial advisors hit a wall finding clients: cold outreach rarely works. Warm intros via networks, or grinding LinkedIn, PitchBook, or ZoomInfo for meetings that may never convert, are often the only paths.
Eden Ovadia saw it while advising large financial institutions on growth at BCG: “They can’t screen those prospects or reach their niche at scale — advisors average 58 hours chasing unqualified leads for one conversion,” she told TechCrunch.
Independents feel it more — no large teams to hunt and qualify. With co-founders Victoria Toli and Theo Janson, Ovadia built Finny: an AI agent that matches advisors to prospects fitting their search criteria. After signup and requirements, Finny narrows its database to the advisor’s target segment and scores priority — essentially a compatibility score from predicted conversion probability. Near-“warm” leads, in effect.
The platform also suggests best channels for high-priority prospects, handles follow-ups, and books meetings.
Founded late 2023, Finny joined YC’s Summer 2024 batch. MVP launched May 2024; $4.2M seed co-led by Maple VC and HNVR, with Crossbeam Ventures, Liquid 2, and YC. Angels include Morningstar CEO Kunal Kapoor, Gusto CPO Tomer London, and Deel COO Dan Westgarth.
In six months since launch: revenue up ~150% MoM; 40+ customers; ~250 qualified firms on the waitlist. Monetization: subscription + success fees; revenue doubled since September Demo Day. First target: independent advisors (scarcer resources than big-firm peers); now experimenting with large banks. “Over 90% of our ICP are RIAs, but we’re piloting with some large banks,” Ovadia said.
New capital: grow engineering (team of seven) and product. Competitors: ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Crunchbase, PitchBook; marketplaces matching clients to advisors; wealth platforms Farther, Savvy Wealth, Robinhood.
